This position will provide prospective student recruitment and admissions counseling in targeted markets in Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) States and be the primary contact for prospective undergraduate international students.  Position implements recruiting, outreach, guidance, and conversion efforts to prospective, applied and admitted undergraduate students by conducting high school visits, attending college fairs, special events, and hosting UCCS-specific events to counsel, guide, and direct students to encourage application and enrollment to the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS).  Data collection and follow-up reporting on recruitment related initiatives with the goal of increasing the number of academically qualified international students enrolling at UCCS and student body diversity.

Job Duties:

  • The position is ideally based in Phoenix, AZ area, or Las Vegas, NV area.
  • Position implements recruiting and outreach activities in targeted Western States to prospective undergraduate students and families by conducting high school visitations to counsel, guide, and direct students to make application to the University. 
  • Travels domestically and Internationally to recruiting events such as recruitment fairs and exhibitions.
  • Position communicates regularly with prospective students and provides them with information regarding admission requirements, application process, and academic programs.
  • Position will represent the University at targeted high schools; college fairs (both national and regional); specialized recruitment events for prospective students, families, and high school counselors; and other University activities related to the goal of the position all while marketing the positive aspects of UCCS.
  • Take an active role in planning/assisting with Colorado Consortium events when appropriate.
  • Analyze data to determine effective recruitment strategy.
  • Develop relationships with targeted high schools and high school counselors for future prospective student recruitment efforts.
  • Serves as first point of contact to advise and recruit prospective international undergraduate students.
  • Works closely with the Division of Enrollment Management to strategize and implement international student recruitment plans that lead to increased enrollment at UCCS.
  • Collaborates with the International Student Advisor and Office of Orientation regarding new student arrival and orientation. Develops and maintains international student pre-arrival information (virtual sessions, online/website and printed).
  • Develops and maintains relationships with overseas recruiting agents and educational agencies.
  • Assists in developing an international enrollment management plan to include domestic and International recruiting opportunities.
  • Serves as an active member of Study Colorado.
  • Participates in virtual events, host info sessions and one-on-one Zoom meetings with students, parents, and agents.
  • Plans and implements yield events activities for accepted students.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains an international student communication plan for prospective applicants, admitted and matriculated international students.

  • Team player who can professionally represent UCCS Office of Admissions and its interests/mission therein.
  • Willing to work flexible hours due to international time zones and travel both domestically and Internationally.
  • Self-starter, motivated professional.

This position has been determined to be exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

What We Offer:

Salary Range: Generally starting at $44,743 - $55,000 per year

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

This position is dependent on the availability of external initiative funding. Funding is currently expected to last 2years.

Tentative Search Timeline:

  • Priority will be given to applications submitted by December 17, 2023. However, this posting will remain open until filled.
  • The potential dates for interviews with the search committee will be the week of January 2, 2024.
  • The potential employee start date is February 1, 2024.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Located in or able to relocate to Phoenix, Arizona-area or Las Vegas, NV-area.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
  • 2 years of progressive employment for an institution of higher education.
  • Valid driver's license issued by a state within the United States.
  • 1 year experience working in international recruitment efforts.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid passport.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate of the University of Colorado Colorado Springs
  • Master's degree in any field
  • 2 years of regionally and/ or remote based employment for an institution of higher education

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit. Employee is occasionally required to move. Tasks may involve looking at computer screen continuously for long periods of time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
