Summary
Maintains distribution, treatment, and collections systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Other duties may be assigned as needed.
- Performs duties associated with maintenance and installation of new and existing infrastructure to be in compliance with City and State masterplans.
- Performs a variety of entry level duties related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of infrastructure in the water and sewer systems.
- Participates in work zone safety procedures; flag oncoming vehicles to protect the public and workers; sets up warning signs.
- Observes connection operations to assure compliance with established methods and procedures; may issue stop-work orders based upon compliance; monitors collection line system to prevent illegal or unauthorized connections, tampering or dumping and initiates corrective action according to established policies and procedures.
- Assists with other maintenance and snow removal in the winter.
- Provides assistance for all public works maintenance and improvement projects.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications may include graduation from High School, GED. Must be willing to work shift schedules on-call and 24 hour standby. Competent in google drive, word processing, budgeting, reporting, GIS, and communication.
Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations
City will aid employees in their pursuit of obtaining Operator Certifications, including Water Treatment Grade III, Distribution Grade IV and Wastewater Collections III. Must possess a valid CDL or ability to obtain within 6 months.

The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
