Position Summary
The Environmental, Health and Safety Project Manager is a key member of the Chromalox Ogden EH&S Team. This position will be responsible for the coordination and implementation of specific projects identified in the Site EH&S Improvement Plan, working closely with the EHS&S Team, site personnel, engineering firms, consultants, and contractors. Additionally, this position will help support the local maintenance team with implementation of EHS related projects requiring use of contractors and subcontractors, including projects related to machine safety, machine guarding improvements, new installations, material handling and storage, and other contractor managed projects. This role will serve as the primary liaison between contractors and the Site Team. This position reports directly to the Site EHS&S Manager.
Principal Activities
Maintain the EH&S Management System, including the deployment of EH&S programs and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines; EH&S policies, procedures, initiatives; and Industry Best Practices.
Manages day-to-day operational aspects of the Ogden EHS Improvement Project and scope of services.
Independently manage multiple small projects or a single major project with the responsibility for managing budget, schedule, and technical performance, with added support from peers and manager.
Assure engagement and alignment from required project constituents and team members, including outside resources such as engineering partners, consultants, and contractors.
Supervises contractor work. Monitors contractor performance and schedule attainment.
Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities.
Overall management of the procurement process including bid analysis (commercial and technical).
Work with global sourcing and purchasing to coordinate negotiation and awarding of work associated with the procurement of equipment and services, expediting, factory acceptance activities and resolving contract issues.
Minimizes exposure and risk on project.
Utilize appropriate safety processes and ensure they are communicated.
Manage subcontractor selection and monitor performance.
Serves as primary daily point of contact to contractors and consultants at project level.
Creates and executes project execution plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
Effectively communicate on a routine basis with EH&S Manager and Site Leadership the status of all projects and will ensure that all projects are completed as scheduled, including the reporting of any deviations or roadblocks to completion.
Supports EH&S manager in providing regular forecast and expense updates to project budget.
Manages and reviews consultant and contractor invoices on behalf of the company.
Supports the EH&S manager in monitoring and addressing all project billing issues and anomalies, both internal and external.
Follows up with contractors and consultants, when necessary, regarding unpaid invoices.
Performs other duties related to project management as the EH&S Manager may deem necessary.
Key Accountabilities
Adheres to company policies and procedures.
Assists with the coordination and implementation of programs for compliance with all applicable local, State and federal regulations.
Ensure contractor compliance with site procedures and guidelines, including contractor approval, training/orientation, pre-job briefings, work permits, audits/inspections, and project close-out.
Maintain records and documents in compliance with all regulatory and internal recordkeeping requirements and provide statistical data on safety performance.
Participate in the scheduling and delivery of contractor EH&S training, including the preparation of training materials, logging of training records, and tracking of training completion.
Lead the contractor request for quotation and project bidding process.
Conduct, facilitate, and accurately document routine audits and inspections of contractors.
Participate in incident investigations, assisting in the identification of root cause, contributing factors, and corrective actions utilizing appropriate root cause investigation techniques. Work directly with action owners to drive corrective and preventative actions to closure.
Issue safety communications and alerts, as needed, enhancing employee and contractor knowledge of safety hazards and risks, detailing root cause of accidents/injuries and corrective actions to prevent future occurrences, and identifying at risk behaviors or scenarios that have the potential to cause injuries/accidents.
Facilitate the reduction of exposure to occupational hazards and work with employees and contractors on control measures to reduce exposure. Recognize and evaluate conditions that are potentially hazardous to contractor health, the environment, facilities, and equipment to determine root cause and provide corrective action that eliminates repeat occurrences.
Serve as a representative of the EHS&S Department and assume key responsibilities for contractor management.
Receives approval on proposed plans for projects and general direction as to results expected or on unusual problems.
Makes decisions on technical problems and methods.

Education & Experience
BachelorsdegreeinSafety, EH&S, Engineering, or technical field.
Minimum5-7yearsof environmental, health and safetyexperience. This position is approximately 90% safety and 10% environmental.
Preferred candidate should have experience in industrial manufacturing (machining or metal working preferred) with strong working knowledge of fire safety, welding, electrical safety / LOTO, machine guarding, mechanical ventilation, manual handling, and ergonomics.
Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to safety, health, and environmental programs.
Experience developing, implementing and managing capital projects.
Must have OSHA 30-hour certification (1926-Construction Standard) and 10-hour certification (1910-General Industry Standard) or ability to obtain within one year.
