About the role:

 

 The IT System Specialist will provide daily support to LIMS users, troubleshoot existing LIMS functionalities, provide end-user training with constant user engagement, document system and work processes, assist in testing configurations and testing of new system. The individual will work closely with other team members to ensure data integrity and provide user requirements.


Abou you:

 

  • Serve as Horizon LIMS project lead to implement and support all LIMS related processes
  • Install and configure client software for each user
  • Configure and support Horizon LIMS control tables and other LIMS static data
  • Document all Horizon LIMS analyses and supporting processes
  • Develop and support instrument integration and automation processes
  • Write training and support manuals to serve as reference and training resources
  • Conduct targeted training sessions as needed for each department
  • Monitor and maintain Oracle databases to ensure best performance and storage requirements
  • Ensure backup and recovery processes are functional at all times
  • Follow all Quality Assurance guidelines to ensure the provided software is archived to ensure full recovery of software and supporting documentation

Required Qualifications:

 

  • BS or BA degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 2-3 Years of Horizon LIMS experience
  • Experience with Oracle database with specific emphasis with server and client installation
  • Highly proficient in SQL coding from development to support
  • Risk management astuteness, ability to identify and quantify project related risks
  • Must be extremely organized with effective oral and written communication skills
  • High level of concentration, alertness, and adaptability to change
  • Judgment to deal with complex situations
  • Must be computer literate with MS Office expertise
  • Have a positive attitude, a high tolerance for job pressure and be able to multitask on several projects simultaneously
  • The ability for working and communicating with persons of diverse personalities and backgrounds

 

 

Physical Demands:

 

  • The ability to stand for intervals of up to 8 hours while working; 
  • Able to speak and hear clearly while communicating with co-workers and managers;
  • Dexterity in hands and fingers to operate equipment and handle glassware;
  • Must have average vision and able to see to read reports and operate equipment;
  • Hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone;
  • Significant amounts of overtime and weekend work will be required based on work load.
