Job Summary
This position has responsibility for the successful operation of the Ostara Nutrient Removal plant. Additionally, this includes both administrative and technical work in directing the assigned project operation.
Responsibilities
- Perform all aspects of sampling, monitoring and testing required to maintain compliance of all guidelines governing the nutrient removal process and management
- Operates the nutrient removal process, harvest processing, and prepares shipment of nutrient product
- Perform daily checks of the nutrient removal process
- Responsible for preventative maintenance of plant equipment and perform repairs of machinery and equipment as needed
- Read and interpret meters and gauges that monitor the nutrient removal process and operation
- Collects and records data for record maintenance and reporting
- Ability to prepare and create clear and comprehensive written reports
- Maintain strong relationships with the client, city officials, and contractors
- Performs facility grounds maintenance including cleaning equipment and tanks
- Oversees operational expense budget
- Performs other related duties as directed
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Records required
- Experience within a water/wastewater treatment environment or related industry
- Knowledge in safe work practices
- Ability to communicate well both verbally and written
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
- Ability to work independently
- Strong attention to detail
- Must be available to work weekends, overtime and ‘on-call’ as needed
