Woodard & Curran also aids employees in earning, upgrading, and keeping their certifications within the industry.
Schedule: Monday through Friday either 7:00am to 4:00pm or 8:00am to 5:00pm. Will be a backup Operator and may have to cover another shift if another employee is out to ensure 24/7 coverage.
Responsibilities include:
- Monitor wastewater treatment plant processes and equipment both manually and via SCADA automation, making adjustments as necessary to control their operation.
- Perform water quality sampling, testing, and analysis to determine compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Operate, maintain, control, and perform routine repair of plant equipment, including preventive maintenance duties.
- Utilize software programs for maintenance work orders and maintains all necessary records.
- Perform general maintenance duties of plant and other assigned duties.
- Take samples of wastewater effluent.
- Perform full range of in-house laboratory tests, following prescribed laboratory procedures, as directed by supervisor.
- Prepare records, as required for each assignment.
- Perform advanced operations tasks.
- Monthly and annual environmental reporting.
- Keeps up to date on environmental regulatory changes and educates the plant staff on these changes.
- Engages employees to pay attention to and notify them of any environmental issues.
What will you need to succeed?
- Georgia wastewater operator’s license preferred, but not required.
- Minimum one year of professional experience in the operation and maintenance of water or wastewater treatment facilities a plus.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- High School graduate or equivalent, with technical/vocational school background.
- Applicant must possess a valid Driver’s License and a good driving record.
- Must be able to lift or move up to 40 pounds on a regular basis.
- Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check, pre-placement physical and drug screen before employment.
