Certified Wastewater Operator - Independent Contractor

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Wastewater Operator to join our team. As a Wastewater Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining wastewater treatment equipment and systems. Your role will involve monitoring and analyzing water quality, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.

Responsibilities:

- Operate and maintain wastewater treatment equipment, including pumps, valves, and control systems

- Monitor and adjust chemical dosages to ensure proper treatment of wastewater

- Conduct regular inspections of tanks, pipes, and other equipment to identify and address any issues or malfunctions

- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning filters, replacing parts, and lubricating machinery

- Collect samples of wastewater for analysis and record data accurately

- Monitor water quality parameters such as pH levels, dissolved oxygen, and turbidity

- Troubleshoot equipment problems and perform necessary repairs or adjustments

- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, inspections, and test results

- Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations and safety guidelines

Skills:

- Strong knowledge of wastewater treatment processes and equipment

- Ability to plumb pipes and make necessary repairs or modifications

- Experience operating tanker trucks for the transport of wastewater

- Proficient in data collection and analysis techniques

- Capable of performing heavy lifting as required for maintenance tasks

- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues

- Basic math skills for calculations related to chemical dosages and water quality analysis

- Familiarity with water treatment processes is a plus
