Title:Senior Biological Imaging Data Scientist

Position / Location: Full-time, permanent position. Candidate location in the Greater Boston Area is a plus. Preference for in-office or hybrid with regular visits to company headquarters in Beverly, Massachusetts.

Reporting: Vice President of Engineering

Position Description: The candidate will manage the process and tools needed to turn millions of images into robust, interpretable data, that can be annotated and analyzed by customers and by Thrive Bioscience.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and execute code to transform customer images of cells, colonies, organoids, spheroids, tissues, scratch assays, plaque assays into interpretable data.
• Communicate directly with customers, understand customer requirements, and present results of data analysis.
• Participate in discussion and design of compute infrastructure and imaging hardware.

Required Experience:

• Minimum of five years directly relevant experience.
• B.S. in relevant subject(s) such as Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, and Bioinformatics.
• Experience in digital image analysis such as fourier analysis and other standard linear transforms.
• Experience with statistical and machine learning projects and frameworks, both supervised and unsupervised.
• Experience with databases and with statistical, AI, ML, and visualization tools.
• Ability to write clean C++ / Python code and experience with relevant ML libraries.

Desired Experience:

• M.S. or Ph.D. in relevant subject(s).
• Some knowledge of basic cellular biology.
• Experience with data science in technical/scientific fields.
• Experience with cellular microscopy imaging, life science lab work, and experimental design.

The principal markets are drug discovery, drug development, regenerative medicine, basic research, and infectious disease research.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $150,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
