Role Summary
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing a wide variety of warehouse activities including shipping and receiving raw materials and finished goods, line feeding, maintaining inventory and associated records. Employee management includes: training, planning and assigning daily work, conducting performance reviews, addressing performance issues and resolving problems. This position reports directly to the Supply Chain Management Department Leader and is responsible for the general and specific job duties as described below:
Key Responsibilities
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities of Warehouse, Shipping & Receiving employees.
• Develop weekly manning plan per production schedule including scheduling overtime and vacations.
• Establish or adjust work procedures to meet schedules and deadlines.
• Recommend measures to improve material handling methods, equipment performance, and quality of service.
• Ensure employees are trained and following the processes.
• Confer with other supervisors and managers to coordinate activities of the department.
• Coordinates efforts of shipping, receiving/warehouse/container process to ensure inventory accuracy, and ensure that the needs of vendors, customers and internal departments are met.
• Ensure OSHA, ISO and Magna requirements are met and maintained.
• Participate in physical inventories and cycle count efforts.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
- Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred.
- 3-5 years supervisory experience in warehouse supervision.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office products
- Experience with SAP strongly preferred
- Knowledge and ability to operate a forklift as well as train and certify others.
- Ability to read and understand documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and employees.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
