Job Summary:
- Hearthside is looking for a dynamic Warehouse Clerk who will have a positive impact on the operations team.
- As a Warehouse Clerk you will perform shipping duties for the plant, including scheduling, tagging products and maintaining an organized warehouse.
What you’ll be doing:
- Checking in drivers
- Operating forklifts
- Checking Purchase Orders
- Scheduling trucks for loading/unloading
- Preparing shipping documents and entering data on a daily basis
- Maintain records of all products and orders
- Verify Seals on trucks
- Maintain customer shipment files
- Maintain Open communications with Corporate Customer Service to maximize shipments and minimize problems
- Work with Plant General Manager and Supervisors to establish load out and shipment schedules and keep them informed on orders (distribute copies, etc.)
- Coordinate containers, export documents, export documents and shipping documents for export shipments
- Maintain good relationship with the trucking companies
- Perform other duties assigned
What you’ll need:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Language Skills
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Mathematical Skills
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Reasoning Ability
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Computer Skills
- Ability to use PICK system and basic windows operation of Word and Excel and GroupWise email system.
