Position Overview:
As the Warehouse Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the shipping and receiving operations within our warehouse facility. This role entails handling various types of shipments, including parcels and LTL (Less Than Truckload), ranging from small items to large pieces of equipment. You will play a critical role in ensuring efficient and accurate processing of incoming and outgoing goods, maintaining inventory records, and coordinating with carriers to facilitate timely deliveries.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders, and inspect items for damages or discrepancies.
2. Prepare shipments for outgoing orders, including picking, packing, and labeling items according to shipping requirements.
3. Utilize shipping software to generate shipping labels, manifests, and other necessary documentation.
4. Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries, ensuring adherence to shipping deadlines and service level agreements.
5. Maintain accurate inventory records by updating system databases and conducting regular cycle counts.
6. Organize and optimize warehouse space to maximize efficiency and facilitate easy access to inventory.
7. Safely operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks to move and transport goods within the warehouse.
8. Monitor and replenish shipping supplies, such as boxes, tape, and packaging materials, to ensure uninterrupted operations.
9. Communicate effectively with internal teams, including sales, customer service, and inventory management, to address shipping-related inquiries and issues.
10. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a secure working environment for all warehouse activities.
11. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes, reduce errors, and enhance overall efficiency within the shipping department.
12. Perform other duties as assigned by management to support the overall objectives of the organization.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in logistics or supply chain management is preferred.
- Proven experience in a shipping and receiving role, preferably in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Familiarity with shipping software for order processing and inventory management.
- Proficiency in using material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, with appropriate certifications.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to accurately manage inventory and process shipments.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with carriers, vendors, and internal stakeholders effectively.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate as part of a team when necessary.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
- Ability to lift and handle materials up to 50 lbs
