Form of workThe permanent, full-time Warehouse Manager I will be directed by the Hospital General Services Administrator II in the General Services Department. The incumbent will be responsible for the following duties but not limited to:
• Supervise Warehouse Workers and Material & Stores Specialist in maintaining good customer service and supplier relationship that meets facility goals.
• Prepares staff evaluations based on individual performance achievements and assures completion in a timely manner.
• Assures policies and procedures set forth by State Administrative Manual and the Department of State Hospitals-Atascadero are followed regarding stock received, documentation of items received and distribution of stock.
• Ensures staff are correctly entering, deleting, and updated inventory information into the "Warehouse Inventory System".
• Able to operate a forklift, electric cart and pallet jacks.

1. BE LIST ELIGIBLE: Successfully complete the competitive State civil service exam pertaining to this classification at WAREHOUSE MANAGER I EXAM , OR
2. BE TRANSFER ELIGIBLE: Have current employment with the State of California in the same classification or in a classification that is comparable (employees who wish to be considered based on transfer eligibility must meet the minimum qualifications of the classification per DPA Rule 250), OR
3. BE REINSTATEMENT ELIGIBLE: Have obtained previous permanent employment with the State of California in the same classification or in a classification that is comparable.
*Minimum qualifications will be verified prior to being scheduled for an interview. Please provide proof of minimum qualifications with your application submission, which may include a copy of your unofficial college transcripts and/or out of class paperwork .
Either I
One year of experience performing the duties equivalent in level to a Materials and Stores Supervisor in California state service. or
Two years of experience performing the duties of a Materials and Stores Specialist in California state service.
Or II
Three years of experience in a storeroom or warehouse which must have included or been supplemented by one year of responsible supervisory or technical experience related to reordering, storing, distributing, or controlling the inventory of a wide variety of materials for a large organization. (Experience in California state service applied toward the supervisory requirement must include at least one year in a class at a level of responsibility equivalent to that of Materials and Stores Supervisor.)
