Job Description
Assistant Warehouse Manager
This is a leadership role responsible for all Warehouse operations, including the complete inventory and product distribution cycle, as well as coaching the performance of the warehouse team. The Assistant Warehouse Manager directs the daily activities of a pick, pack, and ship warehouse. The responsibilities for this role include planning and executing weekly volume and managing the day-to-day operation of the facility's staffing, ensuring inventory accuracy, and quality assurance.
Operations Management
Develop facility operations plans and schedule for peak periods based on parameters provided by management
Ensure adequate staffing and provides equipment needs to fulfill production goals while optimizing productivity and growth
Develop, implement and facilitate measurable improvements to operational efficiency, inventory management, quality, food safety, inventory and order accuracy, and on-time delivery of goods
Maintain environmental, safety, and other relevant regulatory compliance
Work with leadership to continuously improve policy, procedures, practices, and training
Ensure the accurate and prompt preparation of reports regarding daily and weekly operations
Supply excellent service to all internal and external customers
Track and control spending within the budget monthly
Distribution and Inventory duties:
Responsible for all product life cycle, including receiving, shipping, storing, and distributing products and/or material within the fulfillment center
Manage Fleet operators, ensuring operations are executed on time with quality deliveries
Implement working and safety procedures and physical layout for the warehouse
Experience organizing a LEAN facility, including work standardization, visual management, and 5S/Kaizen skills preferred
Scale the warehouse team by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training the staff
Fulfill pick-pack orders efficiently and safely
Supervise warehouse receiving and pick/pack process
Maintain security of warehouse location
Maintain fixture storage area and cleanliness of space
Ensure proper handling of all warehouse orders
Create and maintain metrics and tracking of incidents
Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience in a warehouse, pick, pack production, or manufacturing environment
Experience managing a team of pick pack and warehouse team members
Track and analyze delivery metrics and continuously strive to meet KPIs
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong customer orientation, prioritizing, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
Possess professional business demeanor but also comfortable working in a casual work environment
Knowledge of MS Office Suite
Valid Driver's License required
Experience driving vans and box trucks preferred
Ability to perform prolonged standing, walking, squatting, bending, and lifting 50-60 lbs.
Experience in Six Sigma, Green belt preferred
