How You'll Perform the Role
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the direct oversight, supervision, training, development, and support of all warehouse activities and employees. The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the safety of employees and visitors, the quality of products, efficient utilization of labor, technical problem solving, elimination of waste, and continuous improvement within the warehouse site.
Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:
- Directs all daily activities concerning the planning and scheduling of incoming materials, shipping and receiving, logistics and materials storage.
- Ensures all employees follow safe work practices and procedures consistently and completely. Audits the site for compliance and addresses safety issues in a timely manner.
- Ensures shift employees follow all policies and procedures and provides immediate correction of violations.
- Conducts safety and job function training for all warehouse personnel.
- Trains employees in proper procedures, coaches them to improve results, and evaluates performance while providing feedback.
- Suggests changes in procedures, labor utilization, use of equipment, and materials to increase efficiency of the facility.
- Develop and execute an inventory storage plan based on forecasted volume.
- Leads monthly cycle counting and annual physical inventories including variance analysis. Ensures inventory accuracy, consistency and alignment with company policies and procedures.
- Investigate inventory variances, determine root cause, and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborates with Finance on inventory valuation, variances, SLOB and corrective actions.
- Meets all relevant company key performance indicators (KPI) and develops and executes recovery plans as needed.
- Responsible for adhering to requirements of BRC and/or other similar regulatory requirements.
- Coordinates labor needs with plant Human Resources.
- Interprets company policies, rules and regulations to employees and holds them accountable as such.
- Communicates effectively and appropriately at the necessary frequency with subordinates, peers, and superiors.
- All other projects and duties, as assigned.
What We Need From You
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) not required but preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in warehousing operations in a supervisory capacity.
- Solid understanding of supply chain and inventory management systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with the willingness and ability to learn new systems.
- Resourceful problem solver with proven ability to bring quick resolution to challenging situations.
- Team player with ability to build lasting productive business relationships with hourly employees, management, and peers.
- Ability to effectively communicate information both verbally and in writing to various groups of personnel.
- Ability to deal well with change and handle conflict resolutions.
- Must have forklift experience with a stellar safety record.
- Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
