Warehouse Assistant

Janome America is a distributor of household and computerized sewing machines; a subsidiary of Janome Sewing Machine Company, Tokyo, Japan, who are one of the world’s largest manufacturers of home sewing machines and leaders and innovators in the home sewing industry. Janome currently has a full-time opening at its corporate headquarters in Mahwah, NJ for a Warehouse Assistant in the Warehouse Department.

Summary:

Pick, Pack and Process Orders; Load and Unload Trucks; Machine Shipping and Receiving.

Essential Job Functions:

• Prepare orders for shipment – processes request and supply orders, pulling materials; packing boxes; placing orders in delivery area under direction of the Warehouse Manager
• Maintains inventory control by collecting stock location orders and printing request
• Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat; maintaining clean shipping supply area; complying with company and OSHA procedures, rules and regulations
• Ability to lift 75 Lbs.
• Assist picking and processing of machines and pull to the staging area
• Assist with machine returns; process and return to inspection bin
• Loading / Unloading trucks

Qualifications and Requirements:

• 3 years of warehouse experience
• Ability to quickly learn and remember company part numbers and terminology
• Prior forklift experience is required
• Comfortable with corporate computer systems for distribution of products
• Comfortable communicating in an email environment

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Pick and pack orders correctly making sure no mistakes are made
• Operate shipping manifest machine to process orders for shipment
• Contributes team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
• Confirm orders in company ERP system, assuring all confirmation guidelines are followed up
• Ability to work overtime (which may include weekends) during busy times of the month and year
• When needed, help with machine picking/processing and returns
• Load/unload trucks on a daily basis
• Assist with machine returns process
• Cooperate and follow up with daily tasks or other projects assigned by the Department Manager or Director

Education:

• High school diploma

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
