Robert Half is looking for a Director of Finance to join a well-respected company in western Maryland. As part of the management team, the director of Finance must have strong leadership, management, technology, analytical, strategic planning, and communication skills. If you are an experienced VP/Director of Finance looking for a challenging role at an established company, this may be the role for you.

Key responsibilities

- Analyze and monitor forecasting and budgeting models

- Perform analysis on operating results, comparing against budget

- Manage the hiring, training, and retention of accounting and finance staff

- Oversee the preparation of all financial reports

- Assist in establishing short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures

- Oversee daily operations of the finance and accounting department

- Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations and product investment decisions

- Direct, review, and prepare financial planning and budget management functions

- Adhere to local, state, and federal budgetary reporting requirements

- Take ownership of insurance and risk management

- Prepare financial outlooks and forecasts

- 7+ years of Finance and accounting experience

- Very detail oriented and expert analytical thinking skills - Advanced Excel

- Knowledge of Finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including GAAP

- Strong leader and manager of people - track record of developing positive work environments and great culture

- Proven experience developing controls, policies and procedures, and maintaining compliance in all aspects of the role

- Experience with BlackLine and SAP a plus

- Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting
