The Vita Coco Company is searching for a VP Market Development who will lead the Market Development team across USA to achieve retail execution goals in core markets. The VP is responsible for improving the performance of both the Vita Coco teams and our Distributor partners by amplifying execution in our core markets.
Main Responsibilities:
- Achieve our sales goals by helping the National Account Sales Teams, Vita Coco Field Teams, and distributor partners to maintain a strong focus on our brand.
- Assist the distributor Sales Representatives and local/regional accounts to attain their sales and distribution objectives on our brands through training, educating, and market support.
- Maintain a core account list and develop personal relationships with key buyers/owners and managers across multiple channels of business.
- Plan MD Blitz incentives and build relationships at the regional and distributor level.
- Assist VC VP of DSD with distributor presentations, by providing well-documented reports on specific levels of distribution, cases on display, rack placements, equipment placements, and case sales by the distributor pre and post-blitz.
- Organize and lead MD Blitz meetings with the national team, distributor, and field sales force.
- Oversee inventory and deployment of P.O.S. materials into the marketplace for MD Blitzes. Follow through on all commitments made to distributor management, sales personnel, and the marketplace.
- Review Pre and Post-Blitz Distributor performance nationally / regionally.
- Identify market trends and opportunities, and assist on developing a respective action plan nationally to capitalize on the solutions.
- Manage and help educate the sales teams on Innovation brands that the company has in the developmental stages and continue to build the field execution on these products.
- Work Cross functionally between multiple departments to ensure all parties are aligned on product launches, performance, and growth expectations. This includes supply chain, Operations, marketing, finance, strategic accounts, DSD Sales
Qualifications:
- Education Required: Bachelor's Degree in business or related field
- Years of experience: At least 10 years of professional sales experience; at least 3-5 years of sales leadership experience
- Professional Experience:
- DSD experience required; beverage experience mandatory in the beverage industry
Proven ability to lead, engage, and develop a growing sales team
- DSD experience required; beverage experience mandatory in the beverage industry
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills o Exceptional analytical skills
Ability to travel up to 75% within the market - Technical Skills Required: Must be able to use basic features in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

At The Vita Coco Company, compensation decisions are dependent upon a variety of factors, which may include, but are not limited to: skill set, experience, education, training, licensure and certifications, knowledge and abilities of the applicant, alignment with market data, and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current pay range for this position is $160,000-$180,000. This range may vary for positions that will be performed outside of California, Colorado, Nevada, New York City, Westchester County, NY, Rhode Island, or Washington.
