Job Description
As the VP of Business Development you will:
- Develop in-depth knowledge of the company’s offerings to identify profitable business opportunities.
- Develop and execute effective sales strategies to acquire new business and meet or exceed revenue targets. Use a consultative approach to selling that focuses on creating value and trust with a prospect while exploring their needs before offering solutions.
- Develop and grow the pipeline to identify, nurture, and convert potential leads or opportunities into tangible business deals or outcomes. Continue to build the pipeline through discovery, adding targets for the company’s offerings through research and networking.
- Lead the end-to-end RFP process for the company.
- Work within the CRM technology to document and manage interactions and relationships with new and potential customers throughout the sales lifecycle.
- Own the channel partnership strategy, manage relationships with channel partners, align interests and objectives, and leverage mutual strengths to achieve shared goals and success in the marketplace.
- Conduct in-depth market research to identify potential clients, market trends, and competitive intelligence to develop new business opportunities.
- Analyze market data to develop strategies for expanding our service offerings.
- Monitor the competitive environment and competitive intelligence for potential leads.
- Monitor the market for new pharmaceuticals and medical devices in development for potential business leads.
- Develop and strengthen internal and external relationships that lead to increased lead generation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to understand their needs, identify potential opportunities, and ensure client satisfaction.
- Deliver engaging and persuasive presentations to potential clients.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the successful implementation of client projects.
- Lead the process to identify, select, and participate in industry conferences, seminars, and events the company should be represented at, to build relationships, stay informed about industry developments, and identify prospective clients.
- Provide regular updates to Executive and Senior management on sales pipeline, forecasts, and market insights.
- Prior Business Development and lead generation experience (5+ years) within healthcare/specialty pharma services.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, statistics, design or relevant field (Master’s degree preferred)
- In-depth knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, including regulations, market dynamics, and patient support services.
- Demonstrated success in Business Development/sales within the healthcare services sector.
- Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events; 60% - 70% national travel required.
- Excellent PowerPoint skills and willing to take ownership and create sales presentations.
- Proficient in managing and reporting pipeline activity through the use of dashboards, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and presentation skills with strong emotional intelligence.
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and exceed sales targets with A high intrinsic-motivation workstyle.
- Flexibility of working hours to support activities across EST to PST zones
