The Role

Our VP, Asset Management plays a critical role in the day-to-day management of our portfolio. You will oversee a portfolio of direct real estate assets across the country, with a variety of asset strategies. Your focus will be working with our operating partners to ensure the asset is being managed in line with the business plan, optimizing outcomes for our investor base. The right candidate will not only have strong financial and analytical skills, but they will also have exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills. Our preference for this role is candidates in the Portland, Oregon region however remote candidates located on the West Coast will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of direct real estate assets with a medium to high level of complexity, including maintaining a detailed working knowledge of each asset within your portfolio, its current performance, and the overall business plan.
  • Drive operating partners to ensure transparency, effective and efficient execution of the business plans.
  • Prepare regular reports at each asset milestone on an ongoing basis and report to Executive Leadership and Investor Relations.
  • Conduct analytical analysis, including reforecasts, of assigned assets and deliver recommendations with reasoned support to Executive Leadership for review and approval.
  • Assess and value the assigned assets on at least a bi-annual basis.
  • Lead the disposition and refinance process of any assets approved for sale or refinance.
  • Review and update the KPI data for the assigned assets as designated per the watchlist process.
  • Prepare and deliver a quarterly review for the assigned assets of the progress against action items and performance for the quarter along with project the following quarters action items per assigned asset.
  • In addition to reporting on investment milestones, support the Investor Relations team by providing the necessary information and data to enable transparent and proactive reporting to the investor base.
  • Additional responsibilities as directed for the success of the team and the Company.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial real estate Asset Management, or financial analysis in direct real estate.
  • Highly proficient in Argus, Microsoft Excel, and other Microsoft applications.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with demonstrated experience in relationship management and conflict resolution.
  • Ability to present and communicate complex financial concepts in an efficient and professional manner to executive decision makers, internal stakeholders, sponsor partners and investors.
  • Understanding of standard real estate documents (leases, operating agreements, environmental reports, appraisals, lender agreements, etc.).
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time to visit assets within your portfolio.
  • Highly detailed and accurate with an ability to focus despite managing competing demands in a high-pressure environment.
