We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as the Director of Asset Management. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for leading strategic Asset Management activities that align with Home Forward's values and mission. The Director of Asset Management will play a crucial role in shaping the operational, financial, and policy aspects of our real estate portfolio, ensuring balance between financial return and our commitment to housing stability, resident experience, and community impact.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the mid-and long-term mission-focused operations of Home Forward's real estate portfolio.
  • Analyze property efficiencies, identify opportunities for improved performance, and model full life cycle financial analysis for each asset.
  • Serve as an internal point of contact for emerging policy and legislative issues, consulting with internal and external partners.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement Asset Management strategies, goals, objectives, policies, and priorities.
  • Manage relationships with third-party management agents, ensuring alignment with Home Forward's mission and financial goals.
  • Prepare individual Asset Management plans for each property, including long-term capital needs and financing strategies.
  • Infuse anti-racist actions into policy development, operations, and long-term planning.
  • Direct and support a comprehensive team of supervisors and professional staff in meeting the department and organizational goals.

Recruitment Process
Home Forward is conducting an active recruitment both internally and externally. We plan to screen and engage applicants as follows:

  • Panel Interview Round 1: January 17th

Education and Experience Guidelines
  • Ten years of increasingly responsible Asset Management, property management, or community services experience, including three years of management or supervisory responsibility and two years of direct Asset Management responsibility. A related degree may substitute for equivalent years of work experience requirement.
  • Experience in affordable housing real estate analysis or Asset Management preferred.
  • Experience in social services, community service, or community engagement preferred.
