Job Summary
This is a full time professional position responsible for the implementation and evaluation of volunteer services. This position advocates for the role of the volunteer within the agency. This position will also assist in the management of an integrated process of recruiting, training, placing, and retaining volunteers to support programs, services, and administrative activities of Transitions LifeCare. The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm; weekends and holidays as scheduled
Responsibilities what you do
- Engage in an on-going process of identifying potential areas of increased volunteer involvement throughout the organization, including in surrounding counties as needed.
- In collaboration with Volunteer Services Team Leader and Volunteer Coordinators, design jobs appropriate for volunteers.
- Work with Volunteer Services Team Leader and TL Marketing Department to plan and conduct effective volunteer recruitment campaigns as needed.
- Assist with planning and conducting effective orientation and continuing education programs for volunteers as needed.
- Works collaboratively with IDG and other Transitions LifeCare (TL) departments to achieve patient care goals.
- Participate in IDG care teams and provide leadership in representing volunteers/volunteer services by identifying patients with volunteer assignments/request, bringing forward concerns and strengths identified by volunteers, and exploring ways volunteer services may be able to assist in achieving desired patient/caregiver outcomes.
- Serve as a resource to volunteers in their dealing with problems concerning their placements.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with primary program clients (i.e. patients and families, volunteers, and departments to which volunteers are assigned); ensure strong communication between the organization and its volunteers.
- Supervise the work of volunteers and perform periodic performance evaluations.
- Assist with designing and conducting meaningful recognition activities for volunteers.
- Ensure that appropriate data reflecting departmental activities are tracked and recorded.
- Prepare periodic activity and quality assurance reports and engage in an on-going process of evaluating the program and its volunteers.
- Other duties as assigned by the Volunteer Services Team Leader.

Requirements what you need
- BA, BS or Associate degree in business, human resources management, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 2-3 years experience in volunteer programs
- Demonstrable competency in database management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to manage data to create reports, graphs, and charts as needed

- Must be a self-starter and possess the ability to work well under pressure
- Demonstrable problem solving skills and strong attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to maintain tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality
