Position Summary:
The School Clerk is an integral role that is responsible for setting the tone for our organization’s unique culture and working environment. Under the general direction of the school principal, performs a variety of office support tasks including answering telephones, filing, copying, posting, data entry, typing, word processing, as well as other functions to support daily operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Serves as a receptionist and greets and directs visitors and calls to appropriate staff/department
Prepares and types a variety of original correspondence, memorandums, and reports using a computer
As directed by the school principal and/or the principal’s designee: sorts, and distributes incoming mail, packages and school correspondence
Schedules appointments for school administrators; receives and places telephone calls for school personnel
Responds to inquiries from students, parents and guardians and the general public concerning school operations and activities;
Maintains history and attendance records of students;
Maintains enrollment records and processes student transfers
Receives and compiles periodic reports student attendance and enrollment,
compiles and forwards student transcripts to appropriate parties
Effectively present information and respond to questions from administrators, staff, parents, and the general public.
Take meeting admin notes if needed
Creates signs for holiday and programming, as well as updates to all displayed documentation monthly, quarterly, annually, or as needed
Assist with inventory and stocking supplies
Complete a daily cleanliness check(s) of all common areas and ensure all supplies are stocked in these areas.
Keep work area clean and organized
While closing checks all points of entry to ensure they are secure
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), Adobe, Google/Gmail Office
Exceptional multi-tasking organization and customer service skills are required
Professional attitude and appearance is required
Must demonstrate good concepts of grammar and punctuation usage
Must type 45 words per minute with fewer than 10 errors
Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred
HIgh School or GED equivalent required; Associates Degree preferred
Must be at least 21 years of age or older
Must complete a current background check and physical, including TB
Must have a current and valid form of identification

Upper Body Mobility: Ability to use hands to grasp, and manipulate small objects; manipulate fingers, twist and bend at wrist and elbow; extend arms to reach outward and upward; use hands and arms to lift objects; turn, raise, and lower head.
Strength: Ability to lift, push, pull and/or carry objects which weigh as much as 5 or more pounds on a frequent basis.
Environmental Requirements: Ability to encounter constant work interruptions; work cooperatively with others; work independently; work indoors.
Mental Requirements: Ability to read, write, understand, interpret and apply information at a moderately complex level essential for successful job performance; math skills at a high school proficiency level; judgement and the ability to process information quickly; learn quickly and follow verbal procedures and standards; give verbal instruction; rank tasks in order of importance; copy, compare, compile and coordinate information and records.
