Senior Accounts Payable Specialist
Reports to:
Comptroller/Treasurer
Summary of Position:
Under the supervision of the Comptroller/Treasurer, lead in the administration of the school district’s Accounts Payable function by overseeing the Accounts Payable department, ensuring the accuracy of Accounts Payable reports, monitoring district expenses and budget, preparing tax documents in compliance with IRS standards, and processing purchase orders and invoices all in conformance with school district policies and practices as well as applicable laws and regulations.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Associates degree in Business, Accounting or another related field
- 2-4 years of experience in Accounts Payable
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Suite and Infinite Visions
- Demonstrates strong verbal, written communication, and problem solving skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive and cooperative working relationships
- Highly efficient organizational and time management skills.
Essential Job Functions:
- Train new staff on purchase order and invoice processing in Infinite Visions
- Monitor district expenditures, including invoices, orders, statements, and bills
- Maintain vendor records and files
- Prepare monthly reports and periodic analyses of accounts
- Oversee the work of Accounts Payable staff
- Assist in school level audits
- Receive invoices, perform necessary validations and execute transactions with timeliness
- Resolve issues and troubleshoot complex matters related to Accounts Payable
- Assist other business office staff as necessary
- Year End: Process 1099’s and other tax forms as required
- Demonstrate leadership skills and develop new employees
- Provide excellent customer service to all stakeholders, including vendors, facilities and colleagues
