The Administrative Assistant's purpose is to provide support to building administration, staff members, and school community (inclusive of NSSED, LICA, and all District 34 students) and act as liaison to parents, staff, central office to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the school.

• Assist building administrator, staff, students, parents and school community by coordinating the accurate and efficient dissemination of all information necessary to the orderly operation of the school • Maintain operation of the school office including opening and closing, proper maintenance of all office equipment, answering and responding to telephone and written communications, preparing correspondence and other materials, and the distribution of mail • Maintain confidentiality regarding all school, student and staff issues • Coordinate student affairs including registration, transfers and field trips, etc. • Maintain and update records including: • Student information database (PowerSchool) • Staff information and staff attendance • Student cumulative files • Maintain school finance information as determined by building administrator - may include: • Imprest account (reconcile and record bank statements and request reimbursements) • Invoices for student activity accounts • Request disbursements for building budgets • Maintain records and manage fees and monies collected - prepare deposits • Manage school purchase orders and inventory through Skyward (order supplies) • Act as custodian for petty cash • Type and distribute school newsletter, bulletins, and correspondence • Review building's daily substitute needs and initiate request through AESOP when needed • Maintain bus contracts for students in the building • Coordinate transportation needs with Transportation Administrator (field trips, etc.) • Maintain high standards of public relations at all times with students, staff, parents, and school community • Schedules building use • Other duties as assigned by supervisor – may include coverage for health office in the absence of the health coordinator and other positions as needed
