Summary: This is a customer service-based position focused on cultivating relationships with Memorial Park users by welcoming visitors, offering information, answering questions, selling goods and services, educating, and assisting with permitted rentals and reservations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Opens and/or closes the building at beginning/end of shift.
- Handle cash/credit card transactions accurately and account for revenue collected.
- Proactively greet and welcome visitors.
- Answer radio calls and give information to staff via radio.
- Assist visitors with information about the Park (Areas to visit, park maps, directions, things to do, upcoming events, etc.) over the phone, in person, and or email.
- Handle initial contact regarding comments from Park visitors, documenting, and following up.
- Assist with facility and park rentals and permits by providing information, processing requests, collecting revenue, and setup/breakdown of space as needed.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Support other Engagement Department areas during MPC in-house special events.
- Collaborate with Park Operations team to monitor the Park’s safety and integrity.
- Inform Park visitors of rules and guidelines as necessary.
- Monitors cleanliness of Running Trails Center and its restrooms.
- Help conduct physical inventory cycle and year-end counts to ensure accurate inventory.
- Assist with merchandise and supplies duties such as inventory, receiving, stocking, cleaning, and organizing.
- Facilitate or assist with Visitor Services mini programing/events.
Education and or Experience:
- High school graduation or equivalency plus 2 years customer service experience.
- Experience In Public Speaking, Acting, Guided Tours is a plus
- De-escalation skills and crisis management are a plus
- Possesses good judgement and have strong decision-making skills
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or or move up to 25lbs.
- Must be able to work in all types of weather
- Must feel comfortable driving a utility vehicle
- “All hands-on-deck” approach, including moving briskly throughout the Park.
Pay Type: hourly, non-exempt, part-time, up to 30 hours per week
Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour, double pay on holidays and weekend shift differential.
