Form of workThe Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine (PVM), Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences (VCS), invites applications for a full-time, 1-year Visiting Assistant Professor position in Neurology.
Qualifications for the position include a DVM or equivalent degree, and board certification or completion of a residency program registered by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Neurology) or European College of Veterinary Neurology. The successful candidate will participate in a shared on-call emergency service. Salary will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience. A background check is required for employment by the University.
The successful candidate will actively participate in the discovery, learning and engagement missions of the PVM and VCS department. Clinical Service: Providing clinical service to patients of the Purdue Veterinary Hospital with a time commitment of 65-75%, including supervising veterinary students, veterinary nursing students, and house officers; and building strong relationships with referring veterinarians. Back up emergency call is shared with other faculty. Learning: Excellent clinical, didactic and laboratory instruction of veterinary students, veterinary nursing students, house officers, and graduate students. There will be an expectation of a small commitment of time (5-10%) to didactic teaching of clinical topics. Discovery: The successful candidate will contribute to clinical research through their own projects or supporting current clinical research projects and residency research.
