The Virtual Lobby Host will provide virtual hosting services for the Student Services team. This position will also perform administrative and clerical duties for the Advising Managers.
Duties and Tasks:
- Virtually summon and greet students visiting the Virtual Lobby via telephone and/or zoom.
- Provide accurate information to students – making referrals within the college as needed.
- Assist with administrative support to Advising Managers and advisors.
- Triage student concerns to determine the best way to assist them.
- Assist with scheduling student counseling/advising appointments by encouraging/teaching students to utilize Navigate technology.
- Work as a positive and productive member of the Advising Team.
- Assist with hiring and training work-study students.
- Develop and maintain Virtual Lobby Hosting schedule including that of work-study students.
Essential Functions:
- Provide quality customer service to students entering the Virtual Lobby.
- Greet and welcome all students with courtesy while providing accurate and timely information.
- Identify and meet the needs of students
- Provide solutions and remove barriers for students (internally and externally)
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

- Ability to interpret and explain academic and administrative policies and procedures.
- Familiarity with Oracle People Soft or other student information system.
- Ability to multi-task and work with minimum supervision.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to perform detail-oriented tasks.
- Show flexibility and willingness to learn new systems.
- Ability to establish goals and priorities and make decisions based on program and institutional policies.
- Knowledge of student services.
- Ability to learn to use Q-less platform.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience providing customer service.
- Experience using Zoom, or other virtual hosting technology.
- Experience with administrative tasks.
- Experience providing management/training/scheduling.
- Experience working with Oracle Peoplesoft.
- Bilingual.
