PART TIME VIDEO EDITOR

Location: Mahwah, New Jersey

American Musical Supply is seeking a passionate and motivated video editor to join our newly formed Content and Creative team. Specifically, this individual will be responsible for supporting our video production capability and Social Media publishing activity including the active participation and input for creative projects across the team. Primary focus for this role will be creating and flighting short-form video content for TikTok, YouTube and Instagram. This role will share the responsibility of ensuring we have a robust content calendar and cadence for organic and paid posting across these channels. This is an amazing opportunity to learn from creative subject matter experts working in content marketing for an established music retailer. Ideally, this role will be best suited by individuals looking to learn in pursuit of their interest and studies video producing and editing.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

· Assistance with the set up and operation of production equipment such as cameras, lighting, and other production gear.

· Actively communicating and coordinating between team members on activity.

· General knowledge in video composition, lighting, and camera operations.

· Assist in the pre-production process, including brainstorming, scriptwriting, scheduling, etc.

· Editing videos daily with Adobe Premiere or in-platform tools. Adobe Photoshop and After Effects not required but extremely helpful.

· Effective at formulating impressions and learnings for trending topics for short-form videos.

· Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

· Strong ability to work collaboratively and take direction.

Education and Qualifications:

· General interest and pursuit of further education in Digital Media, Marketing, Communications, Film, Social Media or similar fields.

· Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Premiere. After Effects, Encoder, Illustrator and/or Photoshop a plus.

· Proficient in lighting equipment and understand fundamental lighting techniques.

· Understands treatment and tactics for current short-form video content on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube.

· Basic knowledge of video resolution, file formats, compression, frame rate, and encoding video for online streaming.

· Passion and curiosity in music making, plays an instrument or produces their own music, would also be advantageous.

This role is compensated hourly at the rate of $18 starting at 15-20 hours a week with the possibility extension and more hours based on performance and availability.

Expected hours: 20 per week
