SUMMARY:


The Vice President, Acuity Optical (AO) has leadership responsibility for the AO teams. Responsibilities include, but not limited to: executing and managing key initiatives, training and development of associates, escalation, providing team support & building team engagement. Drives business results and operational excellence. Will collaborate closely with clinic operations leaders and providers to ensure high quality customer service across all aspects of AOs. Responsible for evaluating and identifying initiatives to profitably increase same store sales. Will also ensure new store rollouts will be resousrced and operating in accordance with best practices and meeting target growth metrics.

  • Provides excellent leadership and support for AO teammates.
  • Responsible for the development and on-going management of retail operations including launch readiness, operational policies and procedures, and business planning.
  • Evaluate sales and profitability of current locations and identify and implement actions to achieve optimal performance.
  • Develop and lead an effective, scalable, and consistent retail store expansion process.
  • Responsible for EBITDA variance management of daily optical operations.
  • Owns and drives financial performance and business results for AOs.
  • Standardizes tools, improve processes, and implements technology within the AOs to drive consistency, efficiency and enhance customer/patient experience.
  • Develops and implements training for AO team members.
  • Collaborates closely with Directors of Field Operations and MD/OD’s to ensure seamless transition of services between AOs and clinics.
  • Owns and drives workforce planning to enable effective forecasting, labor planning and scheduling for AOs.
  • Leads the development of strategic and tactical activities for the AOs (including Local Store AO marketing); prioritizes and leads the project management and execution of activities/projects to achieve key business objectives.
  • Responsible for asset protection, and Inventory Controls in partnership with Optical leadership.
  • Participates in Human Resources activities such as interviewing and hiring candidates, salary administration, performance counseling, disciplinary actions, and performance reviews.
  • Responsible for training, coaching, developing and performance review feedback.
  • Maintains an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor in accordance with company policies.
  • Responsible for the effective communication of AO related communication to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintains strict compliance with State, Federal and other regulations (e.g., OSHA, WC, HIPAA, ADA, FEHA, DOL, HR policies and practices).
  • Other duties as assigned by management.


Requirements:

QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES:


REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in business, retail, or related field; 8 -10 years of related experience, including multi-store retail operations experience; or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Exceptional organizational skills, including the ability to handle multiple assignments and prioritize work. Solutions-oriented with data driven approach. Strong analytical and presentation skills. Experience with workforce planning & management. Strong communication skills; proven ability to build cross functional partnerships to make effective decisions collaboratively. Excel at operating in fast-paced environment and work under ability to influence/negotiate.


DESIRABLE: Prior retail healthcare management experience. Experience opening de novo locations.


CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS:

Valid California Driver’s license.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • This is primarily a field-based classification. Temperature conditions are controlled with limited direct exposure to hazardous physical substances. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
  • Ability to travel to multiple locations in a geography.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, see, talk and hear. The employee will frequently lift and/or carry reports, records and other materials that typically weigh less than 20 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, bend, or crouch.
  • Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard, calculator, and other standard office equipment.
