What does your role bring to the table?

The Vice President of Finance plays a significant role for the future of Snooze! The Vice President of Financial Planning& Analysis reports to the Chief Financial Officer and will protect and grow the amazing Snooze culture by being a strategic thought partner for internal stakeholders, in addition to leading the budgeting and forecasting functions. Other responsibilities include building and maintaining both short-term and long-range financial models, analyzing trends and developing proactive data insights. This position will also be responsible for leading, motivating and developing a team of Financial analysts, maintaining great relationships with all our restaurant teams, building a strong financial future for Snooze, and taste-testing a delicious pancake or two!

 

The Position Specifics!

Taking on the role of Vice President of Financial Planning& Analysis isn’t just about bacon and pancakes. The responsibilities of this position include:

  • Develops and enhances the existing reporting tools and analytics, with a specific focus on annual and long-term budgeting and forecasting models for a growing company
  • Prepare presentation materials for the board of directors, investors and lenders
  • Lead the budgeting and strategic planning process for both restaurants and corporate departments
  • Analyze financial performance and trends, identify risks and opportunities, and provide recommendations for improvement and optimization
  • Guide senior leadership in decision-making and Financial Planning strategy  
  • Proactively drives results by providing tools and timely financial information to executive leadership
  • Acts as a strategic partner through building trusted relationships and influencing the organization through projects and initiatives to optimize value creation for our stakeholders
  • Performing variance analysis and presenting to the senior leadership at period close meetings in conjunction with the account team
  • Developing and communicating a strategic vision for the department as the company grows
  • Continuously look for ways to automate and streamline the finance functions for efficiency
  • Monitor and evaluate the financial impact of new projects, acquisitions, and expansions
  • Hires, coaches, develops, leads, inspires, and motivates direct reports and manages the workflow of the Finance Team
  • Partnering with the Chief Financial Officer to deliver on all Finance and Accounting yearly objectives and key results
  • Spearheading other tasks and duties as assigned to meet Snooze’s business and operational needs

  • Ability to lead, motivate, and inspire high-level leaders by mentoring, teaching, and utilizing development resources to encourage continued growth
  • Robust knowledge of Financial forecasting and modeling
  • Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles and practices
  • Expert in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Teams, Powerpoint, etc.)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Power Platform (PowerBI, PowerPivot) or similar tools (Tableau, etc)
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R) a plus
  • Ability to have fun and laugh under/during stressful situations in a high-growth environment (yes, seriously)

 

Let’s talk prerequisites! (Education, credentials, and experience)

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field preferred
  • Certificate in Public Accounting preferred
  • 10+ years of related experience in progressively responsible Financial Planning and analysis roles
  • 5+ years of leadership experience, including direct supervision of Financial analysts or other related positions
  • Relevant hospitality industry experience preferred

  • Must have the stamina to work 45 to 55 hours per week
  • Minimal travel required
  • Home base is in Denver, CO at the Snooze Mothership (hybrid work schedule optional)

 

The Nitty Gritty Details

Denver area base salary range: $180,000- $200,000 per year

The base salary range above represents the low and high end of the Snooze salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Snooze’s total compensation package for employees.
