Vice President of Finance
Overview
Apex Leaders custom-recruits industry experts for our private equity firm clients. Through a bespoke process, we research, vet, and connect our clients with the most relevant, skilled advisors so that they can quickly and confidently navigate investment opportunities.
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Vice President of Finance who will evolve our planning and forecasting processes, report on metrics, and drive business insights to help us achieve our growth goals. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who enjoys implementing process improvements for efficiency, scalability and productivity.
This position is based at our headquarters in Boise, ID and can split time working in the office and working remotely. The VP of Finance will report directly to the President, and be a member of our Leadership Team.

What We're Looking For
For this position, we are looking for a rock star who will manage the finances of our company, including accounting data, operational information, and market trends. This role wears both leader and individual contributor hats.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Reporting weekly on company cash, revenue and expenditures positions
  • Creating and revising financial forecasts
  • Facilitating financial goal setting for the company and providing a strategy on how to achieve financial goals
  • Creating, implementing, and leading company budgeting processes
  • Routinely review revenue cycle metrics to proactively identify and address issues affecting overall performance
  • Establishing financial operations and guidelines for each company department, including creating methods and processes for tracking expenses
  • Ensuring insurance coverages for the company are adequate
  • Managing employees and/or contractors in the accounting department and third party providers
  • Creating a reliable cash flow projection process and managing cash reserves, including advising on capital expenditures and necessary returns
  • Ensuring the company adheres to tax laws and industry regulations
  • Monitoring and auditing company expenditures
  • Improve efficiency related to billing, reporting, revenue recognition, payments, receivable, etc.
  • Managing all payroll and tax activities

What You Will Bring
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Management, Finance or similar
  • Master's in Business Administration preferred
  • CPA preferred

Experience
  • 7-10+ years of experience in finance preferably bookkeeping, accounting, and/or controller functions at a privately owned company
  • 3+ years of strategic and tactical finance experience in an Enterprise B2B company
  • 3+ years of previous leadership experience building and managing finance functions or teams
  • Preferred experience being a part of a Leadership Team providing strategic insights on market dynamics and feedback to other areas of our business

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Adept in fiscal management principles and processes including resource management and needs assessment
  • In-depth knowledge of financial benchmarking, accounting, audit and tax compliance, and other regulatory matters
  • Able to identify risks as well as opportunities to provide feedback on decisions affecting financial results of the company
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to make informed decisions
  • Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, innovative environment
  • Proven track record of succeeding in a goal-driven environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with multiple levels of an organization
  • Ability to quickly learn new processes and technology and proactively work to improve internal processes as necessary
