BigFuture reaches over 7M students each year and is the leading free online resource for College, Scholarship, and Career Exploration. BigFuture demystifies the college going process, helping students unlock options to afford college and explore careers that connect to their skills and interests.Recently, BigFuture launched an innovative, privacy-forward mobile app, BigFuture School, that puts students in the driver's seat and allows them to connect with and receive messages from over 1500 Higher Education institutions. BigFuture also hosts an online platform (BigFuture.org) which helps students plan for college, pay for college, and explore careers. In addition, Higher Education institutions use our Search and Connections solutions to look across the 25,000 high schools to fill their classes and to reach a broad student population. BigFuture has an 85+ person core team and collaborates deeply with other divisions including Technology, Strategic Higher Education, State & District Partnerships, Legal, Marketing, and Finance.

As the Senior Vice President for BigFuture, you are enthusiastic about the opportunity to help all students take the right first step after high school. In this role, you will:
Strategy Direction and Operational Excellence (50%)
  • Provide strategic leadership on development of BigFuture products and programs including BigFuture.org, BigFuture School, CB Search, Connections, Financial Aid
  • Demonstrate an acute understanding of customer needs to propel the rapid innovation of our Connections and BigFuture School products with a relentless commitment to proactive action and continuous improvement
  • Set and continue to evolve a compelling vision for where we're going and how, bringing clarity to our college & career planning approach
  • Represent BigFuture's work to internal and external stakeholders at organization-wide meetings, conferences, and industry panels
  • Own and manage a US $120M+ budget

Team Management (35%)
  • Inspire and lead your team to unparalleled success, ensuring they are supported, engaged, and working effectively toward accomplishing goalsin alignment with organizational priorities and mission
  • In partnership with Talent, oversee leadership development and engagement for staff while optimizing organizational structure and engaging in succession planning for key leadership roles
  • Build a culture that attracts and retains top talent for all positions within the division
  • Provide executive-level leadership to and represent an overall division of 85+ employees

Executive Leadership (15%)
  • Contribute to College Board's strategic decisions as a member of the Executive Leadership Team
  • Represent BigFuture as a member of College Board's Executive Leadership Team
  • Identify priorities for BigFuture and work with senior leaders to execute on those priorities

About You
You have:
  • 15+ years of executive leadership experience overseeing multiple functions and/or a large division
  • Achieved success in scaling and enhancing online products or programs, ideally within a multi-sided marketplace, demonstrating expertise in navigating and collaborating across divisions within larger organizations
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with experience building products/services from the ground up or taking a product from good to great
  • Proven ability to lead the execution of strategic projects through influential leadership, setting a clear vision, and effectively managing teams to achieve aligned goals and metrics
  • Experience owning and managing P&L for a company and/or division with at least $20 million in revenue
  • Adept problem-solving skills, utilizing data to inform decisions and actions, along with a strong ability to interpret, synthesize, and communicate dense data and analytics to a wide range of audiences
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including facilitating meetings and presenting remotely and in-person to large groups, both internal and external
  • Proven ability to build relationships and influence others to action
  • Comfort speaking with media, policymakers, and other influential figures
  • Authorization to work in the United States

About Our Process

The hiring range for a new employee in this position is $300,000 to $400,000. Your salary will be carefully determined based on your location, relevant experience, the external labor market, and the pay of College Board employees in similar roles. College Board strives to provide our best offer up front based on these criteria.
