What will I Do?
The Vice President of Finance is part of the executive leadership team. They are accountable for the administrative, financial, and risk management operations of the company. The role is responsible for the development of financial and operational strategies, metrics tied to those strategies, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results. The position will:
- Protect the moral, legal, and financial assets of Larry H. Miller Sports + Entertainment
- Continually teach associates new and better ways of doing business with an emphasis on stewardship, accountability, and guest service
- Partner with the president on all operational and strategic issues as they arise
- Provide strategic recommendations to the president based on financial analysis and projections, cost identification and allocation, and revenue/expense analysis
- Participate in the strategic planning process and key decision making as a member of the senior management team while maintaining in-depth relationships with all members
- Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans
- Oversee budgetary planning and cost management for short- and long-term objectives
- Develop financial strategies
- Manage capital requests, budget accordingly, and provide recommendations to executive team on how to leverage capital requirements
- Develop performance measures that support the company’s strategic direction
- Oversee acquisition, development, and divestment opportunities and make recommendations to the president
- Review contracts and leases to ensure alignment with company objectives
- Provide financial input and leadership on decision making issues affecting the organization
- Manage the accounting department
- Implement operational best practices across the finance team, including but not limited to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Accounting and Finance
- Oversee direction of internal audit process and follow up on actionable audit items
- Model and provide visibility to the cash flows of the company and make operational recommendations to optimize cash flows
- Oversee the production of monthly reporting for the organization and act as liaison with the parent company in reporting company results and positions.

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, preferred
- Master’s Degree in Accounting or MBA, preferred
- Great communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with multiple teams
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in progressive roles in industry or accounting
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Ability to anticipate work needs and follow through with minimum direction
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background and drug screening
- Responsible for large sums of money
- Must be able to accurately meet deadlines
- Must be able to work in pressure situations
- High levels of stress may be associated with this position
