Job Summary

The Vice President of DC Operations will lead and direct the operations of the DC network in the United States. This position is responsible for d eveloping and providing strategy, vision and direction for DC facility leaders. Working with DC and sales leaders, the person will design, define and deploy a strategic roadmap for the operational excellence system across the DC Network. They will implement processes and procedures, communicate goals, monitor performance and provide feedback.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and directs the facility's management team in the region by establishing direction and ensuring that it is implemented, communicating goals, monitoring performance, and providing feedback; identifying training and development needs and ensuring that opportunities for learning and growth are available; adhering to Supply Chain and company policies and procedures; and supervising the hiring, promotion, coaching, and training of new employees.

  • Manage each facilities’ financial operations in the region by authorizing and managing expenditures in relation to the budget; monitoring asset use; and generating, evaluating, and/or evaluating business reports.

  • Analyze and approve projected staffing plans to ensure they are accurately forecast to meet business goals for workload and performance results; guarantee timely implementation of staffing plans.

  • Develop, plan, and manage the facilities business plans for the region to achieve goals (e.g., safety, quality, service, productivity, and cost) and to identify potential for continuous improvement within complex operations.

  • Develop, implement, and/or manage processes and related documentation to monitor and assure compliance with Supply Chain and corporate quality, safety and sustainability standards, policies, procedures, and directives on a facility-wide level. Effectively facilitates strong partnerships and relationships with key stakeholders across the organization (including stores, inventory replenishment, transportation, finance, tech, product, etc), effectively developing, implementing, and sustaining key organizational objectives.

  • Trains and develops facility leadership and employees in the areas of operational acumen, leadership, end-to-end Supply Chain awareness, continuous improvement aptitude, and operations execution.

  • As a community liaison, participate in local and community organizations and philanthropic activities; advocate for company- sponsored programs and events among associates, customers, and the local community .

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field (e.g., Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Financial Management, Production/Operations Management)

  • 10 years experience in a management role within an operations/distribution/logistics/retail environment, supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors; managing workload

  • Participate in the hiring and promotion of employees facility-wide

Physical Demands / Working Environment

This job is typically performed in an office or Distribution Center environment under usual working conditions. The work requires the ability to sit for prolonged periods at desk and working on a computer and telephone; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear; specific vision abilities required by this job includes Close vision and Distance vision.
