Role Summary: The Vice Presidentof Business Development/Corporate Development will play a pivotal role in driving Ascend Plastic Surgery Partners' growth through strategic partnerships, acquisitions, and integration. This position requires a dynamic, highly motivated individual capable of working flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate discussions with doctors and attendance at trade shows. The role demands up to 60% travel time, alongside a commitment to be in the office at least 4 days a week in Atlanta when not traveling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all aspects of the business development process from target identification, pipeline building, due diligence, deal structuring, negotiation, to practice closing.
- Direct a small team of Senior Analysts, providing leadership and oversight to ensure strategic objectives are met.
- Foster relationships with medical practices, specializing in plastic surgery and aesthetics, to explore and secure partnership or acquisition opportunities.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams, including M&A lawyers, investment bankers, lenders, accounting firms, and various partners (e.g., benefits providers, payroll services) to facilitate deals.
- Engage in extensive travel to meet with potential partners, conduct due diligence, and represent Ascend at industry trade shows and conferences.
- Ensure that all business development activities align with Ascend's values and commitment to excellence, compassion, community, accountability, and team success.
Qualifications:
- 3-5+ years of experience in Corporate Development/Business Development within a fast-growing, acquisition-oriented company, preferably private equity-owned.
- Proven track record in investment banking and/or private equity, with a strong emphasis on due diligence and deal structuring.
- Demonstrated experience in working with medical practices, ideally within the specialty doctors or related fields.
- Excellent leadership skills with experience managing small teams.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, capable of working collaboratively across functions and with external partners.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
