Within Compass Group, Waveguide is part of the Eurest family that provides dining services to local, regional and national companies across the United States. Services include operating employee dining centers, on-site catering, executive dining rooms, and other managed services.
Waveguide’s Vice President of Audio-Visual Operations (VP - AV Ops) is responsible for the management strategic direction, brand positioning and growth of AV operations. This includes developing our market strategy, cultivating a culture of hospitality, and leading all aspects of quality control and financial performance.
In this role, the VP - AV Ops will lead and inspire a management team that performs the scopes of work (SOWs) for both managed-service and cost-plus AV operations accounts, as well as our hourly, on-call AV Technician pools. The VP - AV Ops is responsible for managing the delivery of all service level agreements (SLAs) as well as reviewing monthly invoicing accuracy and the financial performance of the AV operations services. Reporting to the President of Waveguide, this role will also be a member of the Executive Council of Waveguide. Typical job responsibilities will include the following:
Executive Council Activities:
- Establish, implement, and communicate the strategic direction of Waveguide with respect to our AV operations service and its alignment with other Waveguide services.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and meet company goals while supplying expertise and guidance on AV operations services.
- Present periodic performance reports and metrics to the president and other Waveguide and Eurest/Compass leadership.
- Support proposal development and pricing activities, as the need arises.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Marketing and Business Development:
- Represent Waveguide in the marketplace as the public face of AV operations.
- Represent Waveguide at Compass Group events to present Waveguide’s AV ops service.
- Responsible for sales initiatives and approach to market. Maintain and grow pipeline of AV operations by establishing and maintaining relationships. Develop opportunities from Compass Group, Eurest/ESFM or Waveguide-led development.
- Participate in the sales process by working with pre-proposal site survey teams, leading pitch presentations, pricing of services, and aiding in negotiation and approval of final contracts.
- Develop new AV operations service offerings.
- Conduct/oversee "AV people and process" assessments, including AV master planning support.
- Executive point of contact for all accounts.
- Attend client quarterly business reviews (QBRs), as required.
- Serve as first critical issue point above regional managers.
- Perform annual account review to ensure service is aligned with client's requirements.
- Engage in personal contact / outreach to our direct clients, both in person and virtually, on an annual basis and more regularly, as required, especially before contract renewal times.
Human Resource Activities:
- Lead a team of regional managers and director(s).
- Participate in the interviewing and hiring of key employees (manager level and above).
- Ensure that annual reviews of all team members are conducted per Company policy.
- Handle counseling, coaching and termination of employees in accordance with Company policy.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10 - 15 years as a senior leader.
- Ten years audiovisual experience, five years technical managed service delivery experience, and/or five to seven years’ experience of multi-account management.
- High degree of self-awareness.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent presentation skills.
- Experience in personnel management including hiring, supervision, evaluation and succession planning.
- Ability to multitask, as well as stay on task and concentrate with consistent interruptions.
- Able to make business decisions based on financial metrics and similar data.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- AVIXA CTS required within six months of hire date.
