Vice President Of Communications

Job Summary:

Our dynamic and growing organization is seeking a highly skilled and strategic leader to fill the role of Vice President of Communications. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our communication strategies to enhance our brand presence, foster positive relationships with stakeholders, and drive overall organizational success. This position will oversee external and internal communication and the promotion and issemination of impactful stories through various mediums, including press releases, media outlets, social media and other creative outlets.

1. Strategic Communication Planning:
   • Develop and implement comprehensive global communication strategies aligned with organizational goals.
   • Create a plan and vision that can lead to growth in acquisition and engagement, that gets translated to paid and owned media and marketing strategies across channels.
   • Provide strategic guidance on messaging, positioning, and branding to ensure a consistent and compelling narrative.
   • Actively seek out multi channel outlets of Communications and engagement initiatives.
   • Collaborate with senior management to align messaging across departments and initiatives.
2. Public and Media Relations:
   • Develop and execute impactful public relations campaigns to enhance the organization's image.
   • Identify and capitalize on opportunities for positive media coverage.
   • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets, journalists, and influencers.
   • Act as the one of the primary spokesperson for the organization, effectively managing media inquiries and interviews.
   • Deliver compelling messages highlighting our efforts in ending human trafficking, domestically and internationally, emphasizing collaborations with law enforcement and key partners.
   • Create, train and enforce procedures for spakers to ensure accurate communication through all mediums.
3. Internal Communications:
   • Oversee internal communication initiatives to ensure alignment with organizational values and goals.
   • Implement strategies to enhance employee engagement and keep staff informed about key initiatives.
4. Crisis Communication:
   • Establish and lead crisis communication plans to effectively manage and mitigate potential reputational risks.
   • Provide guidance and support to leadership during crisis situations.
5. Stakeholder Engagement:
   • Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to build strong relationships.
   • Develop communication plans to engage and inform stakeholders, including investors, partners, and the community.
6. Content Creation and Management:
   • Oversee the creation of compelling and high-quality content for various channels, including press releases, articles, and social media.
   • Ensure consistency and alignment of messaging across all communication platforms.
   • Oversee content creation for the website, social media, newsletters, etc., ensuring coherence and impact.
   • Supervise the communications team in developing materials for diverse audiences.
   • Lead the Support Services team to maintain accurate and updated communication documents in the brand voice.
7. Global Outreach and Partnerships:
   • Cultivate relationships with international partners to broaden reach and influence.
   • Develop a global press strategy, including worldwide press releases, announcement timing, and coordination of international interviews and appearances.
   • Represent the organization at national and international forums, conferences, and events.
8. Budget Management:
   • Manage the communications budget effectively, ensuring resources are allocated optimally for maximum

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field; Master's preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in communications, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record of delivering impactful internal and external communications.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a keen attention to detail; background in AP-Style writing preferred.
• Experience and savvy in social media practices and tools, knowledgeable in emerging social media trends.
• Experience working with PR agencies.
• Proven track record of successful media relations coverage; proven experience in pitching business and consumer stories to various media outlets.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other relevant software.
• Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
• Cultural sensitivity and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues from diverse backgrounds and regions.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
• Knowledge of the human trafficking field preferred

• Proficiency in multiple languages is a plus
• Some night and weekend work are required
• Domestic and International travel may be required, up to 10%
