Vice President of Tourism & Destination Advisory
JLL is seeking a Vice President to join our Tourism & Destination Advisory practice to be responsible for providing consulting services on behalf of JLL's clients, in the pubic and private sectors both at the production and reporting level as well as managing projects. The VP Tourism & Destination Advisory position will report to an EVP of Tourism & Destination Advisory. The position is remote.
About the Tourism & Destination Advisory consulting practice at JLL:
Our growing global team of consultants works closely with clients in the public and private sector to support destination development, tourism strategic and master planning and create a viable path forward for a myriad of diverse and interesting projects. Our team has developed global tools to model and forecast industry needs and potential outcomes. We work with global institutions and represent clients making investments in the tourism and hospitality sector that will have lasting impacts. Our work is industry leading and constantly pushing boundaries of where our industry could go.
This position will be a critical one to add capacity and be part of this team working globally to advise clients in the tourism and destination development space see a brighter way.
  • Actively project-manage and be responsible for client management on specific projects.
  • Review, proactively manage and opine on project specific work and outcomes to create strategy and recommendations for client work.
  • Lead and complete tourism-related asset feasibility studies, business plan formulation, formulation of realistic development strategies for large scale tourism-related assets i.e., convention centers, arenas, entertainment districts, theme parks, destination resort hotels, etc.
  • Lead and complete tourism strategic planning and master planning projects, DMO strategic consulting projects and related tourism advisory assignments.
  • Understanding of global tourism and hospitality supply chains / value chains and trends, lead and undertake demand assessment on the basis of key sector / sub-sector level opportunities
  • Perform research based on global / regional datasets for analysis, growth forecasting and scenario-based demand assessment, then applying a variety of quantitative and qualitative analytical methods to arrive at realistic demand projections
  • Effectively interact with global practice team during weekly and monthly conference calls and meetings to review project and practice performance.
  • Benchmark and analyze industry related data to identify areas of opportunity.
  • Develop pro forma financials on pre-tax, after-tax, net present value cash flow and book bases, and unique client chargeback and lease versus ownership analysis
  • Review, comprehend, and negotiate key documents and final deliverables
  • Prepare final reports and deliverables.
  • Execute and manage on all aspects of writing, research and/or production of client-specific monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports, meeting minutes, and research papers by assigned deadlines.
  • Maintain current knowledge of key hotel and tourism trends, sales, indicators, supply and demand dynamics, performance statistics and related topics through various industry-standard tools.
  • Performs all job duties and responsibilities in an honest and ethical manner and in compliance with all laws, regulations, and Company policies.
  • Serves at the direction of the EVP of Tourism & Destination Advisory and overall practice leadership.

Business Development:
  • Work collaboratively with senior members of the team to deliver and implement the growth strategy for the global Tourism & Destination Advisory practice.
  • Plan and execute awareness strategies working with practice leadership and marketing.
  • Lead proactive and reactive sales efforts utilizing CRM, personal networks, RFP services, external and internal leads.

Qualifications:
  • 10+ years tourism/hospitality-industry specific work experience in tourism/hospitality operations and hotel real estate, hospitality/tourism consulting.
  • BA/BS degree in Business Finance, Statistics and/or Real Estate Finance preferred.
  • Background in hotel finance or revenue management a plus.
  • Experience in hotel operations, budgeting/forecasting, capital planning/project oversight.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Experience in tourism management a plus.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of revenue management and opening hotel/s' strategies to optimize revenue streams and grow market share.
  • Ability to think and act strategically with experience analyzing leasing and investment decisions.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical and interpersonal skills are essential. Ability to work independently.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comprehend all aspects of financial modeling and underwriting logistics of hospitality-related real estate investments.
  • Detail-oriented and well-organized.
  • Ability to work within formal reporting relationships.
  • Hands-on, can-do attitude, and flexibility to adjust priorities in response to rapidly changing circumstances/deadlines.
  • Exemplary work ethic and interest in working in an entrepreneurial environment setting with a strong team culture.

Estimated compensation for this position is:
125,000.00 - 135,000.00 USD per year
The pay range listed is a total compensation range including bonus, if applicable. The provided range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data.
