Description/Job Summary
The Vice President of D.C. Operations will report to Lindahl Reed’s President and CEO and will help drive business growth and company branding across Lindahl Reed’s rapidly expanding clean energy, climate change, environmental, and public health practice areas. The position will be a key member of Lindahl Reed’s core leadership team, responsible for supporting the execution of existing business, organic growth with current customers, and the development of business strategy to accelerate growth in the D.C. marketplace. The Vice President of D.C. Operations will be responsible for strategic customer and partner relationship development and delivering high performance teams to meet customer requirements. The position will work closely with the executive team, practice leads, the business development team, external consultants, and key external partners to develop and implement growth strategies and win new work.
Position Responsibilities
  • Provides visionary leadership, direction, operational oversight, and development and execution of the strategic business growth of Lindahl Reed’s D.C. Operations.
  • Works as an integral member of the leadership team, providing analysis, insights, and advice on business strategy, direction, performance, and execution to align with company goals.
  • Collaborates closely with other executive leaders, practice and operational leads, and advisors to the board to support the development and implementation of strategic business development vision/plans.
  • Identify and build relationships with key decision-makers at all levels within client and partner organizations to obtain business intelligence, maintain market awareness and position Lindahl Reed for new business opportunities.
  • Develops business to align with market opportunities, resources, and company vision, including overall service and technology road map designed to accelerate growth opportunities.
  • Oversees and manages DC Metro Area resources, including personnel planning, communication, mentoring, professional development, and other external vendors and partners.
  • Manages contracts, programs, and projects, as applicable.
  • Performs the role as the program manager on large government contracts, as applicable.
  • Leads and supports proposal efforts.
  • Develops, manages and mentors assigned personnel to enable them to grow in their current roles and beyond.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
The following qualifications, skills and experience are applicable to this position:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred and minimum of 20 years of professional consulting experience in federal markets required.
  • 10 or more years of experience in Department of Energy market required; additional knowledge and experience with Department of Defense and federal customers preferred.
  • Expertise with clean energy technologies, decarbonization, electrification, energy resilience, and energy security.
  • Existing network of business-to-business or government agency contacts within the federal market.
  • Knowledge of competitors in this market space and experience in competitive assessment.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and present technical presentations to internal and external clientele and the ability to lead proposals.
  • Competency and proficiency with structured business development, capture, and proposal processes.
  • Strong writing, communication, and facilitation skills, team-focused mentality, and commitment to continuous learning.
  • Must be able to work under tight deadlines, with multiple/simultaneous bid/proposal efforts, and occasional travel.
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational, time-management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively work with a diverse workforce of professionals and to work collaboratively with all team members.
  • Self-starter, driven and able to work with limited direction under target timelines.
  • Ability to translates complex ideas into processes and tactical plans.
