Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist

West Towne Veterinary Center is looking to add an experienced front desk or outpatient specialist, veterinary assistant, or passionate animal lover to our practice. You will enjoy a small, well-managed practice which specializes in preventative care, cat & dog friendly, dentistry and nutrition. We are proudly an AAHA accredited and AAFP Cat-Friendly certified practice and have state of the art medical record-keeping, client communication technology and dentistry equipment.

Responsibilities may include:

• Assisting with concierge/triage of outpatient appointments
• Coordinating client communications
• Working front-desk, including managing emails, asynchronous client communications using state of the art software such as PetsApp, Digitail, and Kontak, answering phone calls, balancing cash drawer, tracking inventory, etc.
• Assist in organizing community outreach events such as Cats Night Out, Fit Pets for Rescue, and others.
• Assist in record keeping of clinic pets and select patients on a daily telehealth monitoring platform; Healthy Pet Connect, created by our clinic owner.
• Preparing prescriptions
• Assisting with care of boarded cats
• Preparing laboratory samples to be sent out, or conducting basic in-house laboratory analysis (based on experience and training)
• Keeping detailed patient records

Preferred qualifications: Assistant/technician experience in a small animal clinic. Restaurant/Retail managerial experience. One year of experience managing a front desk/reception.

This position requires between 25 and 35 hours per week and must be available to work an 8-9 hour shift between the hours of 8am and 5 pm Monday-Friday. Full time employees are eligible for health insurance, parental leave, discounts on pet care, sick and vacation days. Wage is dependent on experience and skills with a range of $20 to $25/hr which would include monthly performance bonuses.
