The Jackson Pet Hospital is looking for a Full-Time Veterinary Assistant to join our small-animal vet clinic. In addition to the following Veterinary Assistant duties, this position will also include some Reception duties.
CVT NOT REQUIRED, but prior vet clinic experience is a definite plus. We will help to train you if you don't have all of the required skills/experiences, but we don't want to start from scratch.
Veterinary Assistant responsibilities would include:
- Surgical Assistance (surgery prep, anesthesia monitoring, and post-op care)
- Laboratory Diagnostics (preparing, running, and reading samples, maintaining lab equipment)
- Maintaining a clean and sanitized clinic environment (surgery cleanup, instrument sterilization, kennel maintenance, laundry, end-of-day cleaning)
- Client Contact and Assistance with Exams (gathering case histories, prepping vaccines, client education, patient restraint, etc.)
- Filling prescriptions, assisting with x-rays, and other duties as assigned.
Veterinary Receptionist duties would include:
- Answering phones
- Scheduling appointments
- Communicating with clients - on the phone, via email, and in person
- Welcoming clients to their appointments
- Collecting payments for services provided
** Our clinic has a focus on canine reproductive services. Any experience working in this field, or with clients who show and breed dogs is a plus. **
Compensation is commensurate with experience, includes health insurance, employee discounts, SIMPLE IRA w/ employer match, and PTO at 1 year of employment.
This is a Full Time position, with immediate availability.
