The City of Kyle's Public Works Department is seeking individuals to join our Water Utilities Division as a Water Technician I. With starting pay from $21.62- $27.00 per hour DOQ, you will be provided with training and licensing opportunities to benefit the City and your personal development. Technicians provide a service to their community by ensuring clean water is accessible to our citizens and maintaining/repairing of the city's water distribution and production system, including water mains, lines, service connections, wells, and storage tanks.

Your specific duties in this role will include, but not limited to:
- Performs maintenance and repair work on a regularly scheduled basis without direct supervision.
- Assists other Public Works staff and departments in the planning and execution of their assignments, providing labor and/or technical assistance as required.
- Completes routine wastewater system maintenance assignments and activities, without direct supervision, including, but not limited to, minor collection line repairs, lift station pump and manhole maintenance and repairs, service line installation and repairs, concrete work and general maintenance of wastewater collection system.
- Maintains all equipment utilized in maintenance activities, including changing oil and other routine maintenance of appropriate equipment.
Specific qualifications for the position include:
- High School Graduate or Equivalent.
- Competent training and certification from a technical or vocational school, and two (2) years of general work experience; or an equivalent combination of training and/or experience which evidences a comprehensive knowledge of required job duties and expectations.
- Valid Texas Commercial Driver's License (CDL), or ability to obtain within six (6) months of hiring (may be terminated if not able to obtain), and be eligible for coverage under the Kyle vehicle insurance provider.
- TCEQ Class "D" Water License must be obtained within one (1) year of hire to continue employment or obtained before employment.
- TCEQ Class "C" Groundwater and/or Class "C" Distribution License must be obtained within three (3) years of hire to continue employment, or obtained before employment.
