User Experience Designer (AI)-Intern

We're looking for a User Experience Designer (AI)-Intern candidate with experience in UX design, AI, and prototyping tools to join our team in Redwood City, CA/hybrid, 3 to 5 days a week.

You will report to the Director, User Experience Design.

Your role responsibilities? Here's What You'll Do

• Work with an AI-experienced UX team, a cross-functional team of developers, and a product manager.
• Research several articles, reports, and demos to understand the problem and available solutions.
• Create working design prototypes using front-end technologies and Data Viz tools.
• Innovation in AI expression has the potential for novel ideas.
• Validate the design outcomes with users.
• Document the concept design for the final project.

What We'd Like to See

• Join our AI User Experience team to design next-generation AI experiences using Copilot, Natural Language AI (GPT), and Gen AI for Informatica Intelligent Data Management Platform, which consists of multiple product journeys including data integration, data catalog and governance, and master data management. Using the latest design and technologies for solving big, complex data problems while collaborating with other professional designers and researchers to create design concepts and design interaction patterns for AI surfacing.
• You will engage in data challenges with an AI-driven design approach. Here are some of the AI advanced designs you will explore.
• Claire Copilot
• Conversational User Interface for Data
• Contextual and page level AI Surfacing
• Dynamic and Generative Interfaces
• Data Lineage and Graph Interfaces
• Individualization human task management, etc.

Role Essentials

You are researching user-centered design and AI to create rich, scalable, high-productivity enterprise tools. Passionate about AI and data to develop new ways of making the User Experience better. You enjoy working with other designers, developers, and product managers. You want to research multiple articles, papers, and reports and explore AI-driven designs backed with data. Most importantly, you relish interacting with users, having your design ideas tested, exploring design concepts and assumptions, and using users' feedback and insights to create the best User Experiences for them while meeting product requirements.

• Master's or PhD student in UX design and human factors.
• Ability to demonstrate previous project portfolios in AI concepts.
• Good knowledge in information visualization, design thinking, and ideating innovative concepts.
• Knowledge of user-centered design principles, UX design, trends, and AI/emerging technologies.
• Working knowledge of using design tools like Figma, Adobe, or other prototyping tools.
