The role
The Community Manager (USA) is a critical part of theinternational team which willdeliver community strategy for Drax Group in the United States and support the Group Head of Communityand Head of Communications, N America to implement the broader reputationalstrategy in the USA that will build trust both internally and externally andsupport the delivery of business objectives.
The post holder will beresponsible for building grassroots relationships in each of our operatingcommunities and creating Action and Engagement plans in response to the uniquechallenges and opportunities in each. This will include identifying local non-profitorganizations and community initiatives that we can support through ourCommunity Fund. The post holder will manage a local budget for communitygiving, travel, and other operational costs.
You'll also work closely with theNorth America communications team, Government Affairs team, Sustainability Teamand Operations to build collaborative approaches to community-related issues.You may also have day-to-day engagement with agency resources.
This role requires regular travelto Drax operational sites in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas andTexas.
About you
To be successful in this role it is crucial that you can demonstratesolid experience in stakeholder management, influencing and negotiation skills.You'll demonstrate your possession of these through your experience of workingin community engagement, stakeholder relations and communications within aheavily regulated sector (in-person as well as virtual).
You'll also have experience in in building community and keyleader relationships, including in the NGO sector, and evidence experience in developingand managing community programming and associated budgets. And experience ofmanaging supplier relationships, including working with external agencies, indelivering against KPIs. Experience with and providing funding for non-profitorganizations is also highly desirable.
You'll be self-motivated,calm under pressure, with good collaborative and relationship building skills,and be data driven and adaptable inyour communications approach, to achieve the best outcomes. Storytellingand planning skills, ability to take complex information and make it accessibleacross a variety of channels, for multiple audiences
This role includes regular travel to Drax sites across the UnitedStates. Therefore, you must be willing to travel to these locations, we expectthat at least 25% of time may involve travel in Louisiana, Alabama,Mississippi, Arkansas and Texas.
