Job description

Duties

  • Ensures security of all guests is maintained at all times.
  • Ensures guest privacy is maintained at all times.
  • Responsible for a variety of semi skilled and unskilled tasks involving standard methods related to the operation and maintenance of physical plant facilities.
  • Makes basic plumbing repairs to sinks, faucets, commodes, tanks, urinals, P-traps, shut off valves on washing machines and water supply that can be accomplished by removing, cleaning, resealing, replacing defective parts or units, installing water heaters, garbage disposals, faucets and sinks.
  • Recognize the cause of faulty equipment and make repairs on a variety of HVAC units as appropriate.
  • Recognize and report electrical problems.
  • Measure, cut and construct or repair wood or wood substitute items.
  • Preparation of areas and standard coating methods such as brushing, rolling, and spraying to ensure surfaces are fully coated, protected and free from drips and runs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Must have ability to perform moderately strenuous physical labor as unassisted lifting, moving and carrying of supplies and equipment weighing up to 45 lbs (100 lbs assisted)

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience with demonstrated skill in two areas (Carpentry, Plumbing, HVAC, Electrical, Painting).
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental rules and regulations concerning procedures, tools, mechanical and electrified equipment, commonly used chemicals and basic safe work practices is required.
  • Must possess a welcoming manner and positive attitude; demonstrate effective communication skills; profesisonally interact with guests; answering guest questions concerning hotel facilities; and provide information about local atrtractions.
  • Provide assistance in handling customer complainnts, involving management as necessary.
