Day to Day- designer interacting with designers and other managers. Interact with research and cross functional like engineers. Need an expert in Figma. Use Jira in sprint planning.
Hard Skills: Figma, Google Slides are preferred.
Nice to have: Well organized, presentator, narrative.
Yrs of experience: 8+ yrs of experience. Might consider 6-7 yrs of experience but will not go below 5 yrs of experience.
Education: Experience matters over education
Industry: eCommerce exp is preferred. Post transaction experience is helpful.
Red Flags: Projects in the school is not countable. No online portfolio, wouldn't be considered.
Team dynamics: 5 people in the team. Might not work with the designers but will communicate with them. Regular design reviews so they will interact with the lead. People located in San Francisco, 2 others in CA, Manager in Dallas, 1 in EST
Interviews: Initial 1-1 might be HM or Lead, 2nd round (45min)- portfolio review and 1-1 with one of the participants. During the interview, they need to talk about 2 of the case studies.
Contractor will be working on prototype.
Portfolio might have 2 case studies, Experience with desktop, mobile apps
Agency experience is fine. Bonus to have industry experience.
Will be creating new components but they will be mainly working on design systems.

Day to Day Responsibilities of this Position and Description of Project:
We are looking for a Senior Designer to be a part of our Protections (post-transactions) design team, helping tackle the complex problems and serve customer needs in areas such as returns, cancelations and more through product discovery and design thinking.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Create world-class, user-centered designs that solve for customer needs, deliver on business requirements, account for technical feasibility and scalability
Help lead product discovery activities and collaborate on the future direction of the product with peers, researchers, design leaders, product partners, engineers and executives
Develop conceptual diagrams, information architecture maps, wireframes, visual mockups, lightweight specifications, prototypes and product demos that capture the team's shared understanding and document solutions to bring to market
Apply best-in-class examples as well as research and customer insights to inform decision making and build meaningful solutions
Communicate openly with managers and cross-functional partners throughout the project lifecycle to set expectations and to ensure alignment and feasibility
Capable of shifting focus between the micro and macro aspects of the work, analyzing the implications of the experience at all altitudes
Skill in crafting presentations to solicit design feedback and gain alignment approval from diverse partners and leadership
REQUIREMENTS
8-10 years of experience in interaction, product, or UX design
Outstanding online portfolio that shows a broad range of interaction design work from native apps, web and desktop-based applications
Experience using human centered design and design thinking to build scalable frameworks and strategies
Experience driving design and user experience through ambiguous projects, end to end
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, agile environment using strong people, project, communication and organizational skills
Experience using data and research to advise decision making and measure outcomes
Ability to collaborate across multiple teams and functions in a continuous delivery, agile environment
Expert in design and prototyping tools like Figma, and a stickler for clean, organized files
