The Truck Yard Technician is a hybrid position responsible for maintaining all aspects of a commercial Truck Yard, maintenance including truck and trailer cleaning, light landscaping, and housekeeping of the yard, and assisting with loading and off-loading of trucks entering the yard. Secondly, the position is responsible for performing assigned duties as a field technician off site at various customer sites.
Essential Job Duties:
- 50 % in yard and 50% Field technician
- Tuesday - Saturday schedule
- Washing exterior of trucks and trailers in compliance with company cleaning policies and procedures.
- Inspect cleanliness of trucks interiors for compliance with customer and company requirements.
- Maintains company yard and grounds area in a neat and orderly manner and report potential hazards.
- Light landscaping and yard upkeep.
- Assistance with loading and off-loading trucks in the yard. Assisting CDL driver with car washes and other projects away from the yard.
- Work as a Field Technician in various off-site projects.
- Assist subcontractors to ensure that they are following proper operational and safety protocols.
- Assist in pulling waste samples from customer tanks to assist in proper waste characterization and waste profile completion. Transportation of samples to local laboratories for proper analysis.
- Utilize various types of tools/materials including but not limited to pressure washers, brooms, shovels, buckets, rags and absorbents.
- Operate company vehicle to run errands as required.
- Obtain and maintain licenses and certifications necessary to complete job assignments.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Identify and report safety hazards.
- Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
Essential Job Requirements:
- High School Graduate or equivalent a plus
- Basic reading comprehension and writing skills.
- Uses logical step-by-step procedures and problem solving.
- Ability to operate a power washer.
- Ability to use hand/power tools and equipment.
- Ability to wear a respirator and protective clothing
- Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
- Duties regularly require standing; walking; reaching with hands and arms; climbing or balance; stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Ability to lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
- Work full shifts doing repetitive motions in any weather.
- Work occasional weekends or holidays.
- Willingness to work overtime with little or no notice.
- Reliable and Dependable.
- Manages time effectively.
- Must be willing to help with other responsibilities as needed.
- Ability to work independently or as a team.
- Must pass background check and drug screening.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
