Job Description:
As a Transport Supervisor at Gulf Coast Utility Contractors, you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing our lowboy transportation operations. You will be responsible for ensuring the timely and safe delivery of heavy equipment, materials, coordinating with drivers, and optimizing routes. Your leadership and organizational skills will be key in maintaining high standards of service among us and our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safe and efficient transportation of heavy equipment, machinery, and materials using lowboy trucks
- Supervise and guide a team of lowboy drivers, ensuring they adhere to company policies, industry, and safety regulations.
- Coordinate and schedule transportation routes, ensuring efficiency and on-time deliveries.
- Monitor vehicle maintenance and repair schedules to ensure fleet reliability.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Handle customer inquiries and address issues or concerns in a professional manner.
- Keep accurate records of transportation activities.
- Continuously look for opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
- Train, mentor, and motivate transportation staff to maintain high performance standards.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in transportation and logistics, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Proven track record of effectively managing and supervising a team of drivers.
- In depth knowledge of lowboy trucks and their operation.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, compliance requirements and industry best practices.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Proficient in using word, excel and other required tools.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and have a high attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
- A valid CDL license is a plus.
