DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Transportation Planning Specialist 1, you will be responsible for a wide range of professional tasks and support within the Planning and Programming Unit of the district. You will assist the district Planning and Programming Supervisor (PPS) in developing and maintaining statewide, regional, and district-wide transportation plans and programs; generating reports related to these plans and programs; and collaborating with local agencies involved in their development. You will also aid in the implementation of the district’s PennDOT Connects planning effort, as well as play a role in the coordination of the district’s Bicycle and Pedestrian related planning activities.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Hollidaysburg.
- Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
- One year as a Transportation Planning Specialist Trainee; or
- One year of professional Transportation Planning or transportation programming experience and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, electrical engineering, mathematics, statistics, planning, computer science, or geography; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
