Job description

This is a repost. If you have previously applied for this position, there is no need to reapply.
The California Air Resources Board is seeking a highly-motivated individual to work on the Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS), a regulation critical to California's climate change and carbon neutrality goals. The LCFS incentivizes lower carbon Transportation Fuels such as biofuels, electricity, and hydrogen to reduce petroleum dependency and achieve air quality benefits.
We are seeking an Air Resources Technician II (ART II) to support staff review of low-carbon fuel pathway and project applications, which includes but not limited to ensuring applications are complete, accurate, and meet the requirements of the LCFS Regulation. The ART II will assist with application tracking and approval using LCFS reporting/data management system and SharePoint. The position also involves posting materials to the LCFS website, tracking stakeholder inquiries, and supporting public events such as workshops and webinars. The position may require occasional travel up to five percent (5%) of the time for site visits, meetings, and workshops.
The Fuels Evaluation Section (FES) develops new fuel pathways and evaluates fuel pathway applications from fuel producers. Fuel pathways include renewable diesel, alternative jet fuel, biodiesel, ethanol, and biomethane from diverted waste streams. Once the section certifies new fuel pathways, those pathways are available for reporting under the Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS). Key activities of the section related to new fuel pathways include reviewing fuel pathway applications for accuracy and completeness, assisting alternative fuel producers with the development of new or modified fuel pathways, and using life cycle analysis models to develop fuel pathways with broad applicability.
Applying electronically via CalCareers highly recommended. If submitting hardcopy applications (mail/drop-off), please send email to Essam.Gad@arb.ca.gov to confirm submission.
You will find additional information about the job in the Duty Statement .
